Dream of being a blogger? Or perhaps you want to add blogging to your current business. Regardless of what you’re interested in doing it for, you’re probably wondering what the best laptop for blogging is.
Blogging is a pretty low-cost sport, especially when you’re just starting out. With a domain name and monthly hosting, you can pretty much do anything you want. But you’ll definitely need a laptop. So, what’s the best laptop for blogging?
The Best Laptop for Blogging
While there are a ton of great blogging laptops out there, based on my research (and my own opinion) these are the best laptops for blogging.
Apple Macbook
Apple laptops are not exactly the cheapest pick for blogging laptop, but it’s on my list because that’s what I use. I absolutely love my Apple Macbook Pro, but I admit that it cost more than my car’s worth (though, in my defense, my car’s not worth much).
I find Apple computers to be very user-friendly and provide an easy transition if you’re already an Apple user. I also find them to be faster and you’re less likely to download something that might harm your computer!
While my Macbook Pro is a few years old by now, it has 16 GB of memory and 250 GB of space (which works perfectly because I mostly use cloud storage). It’s fast, easy-to-use, and when it comes to blogging all you really need is internet access and a keyboard. Check, check!
The biggest downside to the Apple Macbook is the high price tag. A new one starts at $1,300.
ASUS ZenBook
If you’re looking for the Apple vibe but can’t quite justify the price tag, the ASUS ZenBook is a sleek thin Apple-looking laptop.
It receives the title of best laptop for blogging because of its light and portable style. It comes with the Chrome OS and a regular Intel HD 400, and also has a built-in HD camera in case you want to make a go at vlogging. Basically, it’ll do anything you need blogging-wise.
While it is less than an Apple Macbook Pro, you’ll still have to fork over some cash for it as this baby rings in around $850.
Inspiron 15 5570 Laptop
Looking for function and affordability? Dell makes some pretty nice laptops and the Inspiron 5570 rings in around $600 (depending on where you purchase it).
It has a 15.6-inch display, 1TB hard drive, ample video and memory support and runs off Windows 10.
For your average blogger, the Inspiron will be more than enough to get the job done. Plus you’ve got ample screen to build some promotional pieces for your blog’s Pinterest account.
Acer Chromebook
If money is a big concern for you, the Acer Chromebook is a nice cheap choice for a laptop. While I used to feel Acer’s were a bad quality electronic, they’ve made some serious improvements over the years.
If you’re looking for the best laptop for blogging that’s also the cheapest, you can pick up an Acer Chromebook for around $250. They’re tablet-sized laptops coming in at 11.6-inches, but don’t let that scare you off. It’ll get the blogging job done!
The Truth About Blogging Laptops
As a blogger myself, I feel comfortable saying that when it comes to getting your posts out there—a laptop is a laptop. Any laptop you have will do! Even the $250 version from your local department store might work just fine.
